Brown V Board of Ed.

In my opinion when the justices ruled unanimously that it is unconstitutional in public schools.
" In 1896, the Supreme Court ruled in Plessy v. Ferguson that racially segregated public facilities were legal, so long as the facilities for blacks and whites were equal. " "SEPARATE BUT LEGAL"
After it was deemed legal for separate facilities to be legal, after this court ruling. I feel as though it put a halt in the process of making it illegal in school districts. After reading this article I was kind of surprised that they had a unanimous decision to make it illegal in public schools. Since it is a public area and in 1896 it was ruled legal.

"In the decision, issued on May 17, 1954, Warren wrote that “in the field of public education the doctrine of ‘separate but equal’ has no place,” as segregated schools are “inherently unequal.” "
I love how he worded his statement. When it comes to education the whole separate but equal doesn't have no place in education. Which I feel as though time might have changed the people of the court's mind and say this is unconstitutional which might have been from the outrage that the African American community had done. This was a big win for African Americans since it helped the next generation of African Americans to do better and better.
