Another stab at the U.S. Constitution
“In a democracy, no one person should wield so much power for so long. Article III of the Constitution provides that federal judges “shall hold their offices during good behavior.” I like this quote because by saying that no one person should be in so much power for so long is with age the brain and mental capacity then deteriorates which could cause problems when that person is in power. Also, people might at first not abuse their power but being in that kind of power for so long it can get to one's head. Which is why I understand in rotating presidents and cabinets. It is also good to get someone new to a new point of view on certain dilemmas.
I would understand that the rule has not changed because of the life expectancy back then was 34 whereas now people live twice to three times as much. “one of the criteria for selection is that the judge be young enough to serve for several decades” this surprised me, but is understandable having a young judge that can serve for decades which helps with experience
